DEVI's debut release, "Get Free", is a fabulous collection of rockin' songs from vocalist/guitarist Debra DeSalvo, bassist Dan Grennes, and drummer John Hummel, with Debra penning all the songs except the 2 cover tunes. The album kicks off in grand style with "Another Day" and eases into "When It Comes Down", which features some wicked guitar playing. "Runaway" - yes, the old Del Shannon song - comes up next and DEVI gives it a cool new twist. From there, it's "Howl at the Moon", opening with clean guitars and soaring vocal, sneaking in a sarod or sitar that bears a striking resemblance to a Mississippi slide blues guitar. Next up is "C21GH23N03" an angry song that features searing guitar solos, followed by "Demon in the Sack", and equally ferocious song with a hopping groove that'll have you moving in no time.

"Welcome to the Boneyard", a slow, chilling song spoken from the dead and featuring a gut-wrenching guitar solo is followed by "Get Free", which opens with an almost Hendrix-esque guitar intro and dedicated to the late author of "Zen Guitar", Phil Sudo. "All That I Need" is a blast of fresh air featuring a cool organ, quick pace, and Debra's eternal optimism. You can't help feel good listening to this track!

"Love That Lasts" comes in slow and sultry, featuring a cool clarinet solo and debs vocals pouring out over a wash of chiming chords. The song builds into a frenzy with HUGE drums roaring away and Deb's guitar wailing above the furor. The CD winds down with the final track, a classy re-make of the classic Neil Young song, "Needle and the Damage Done".

All in all a fantastic collection of tunes! Visit DEVI on-line at http://www.devi-rock.com/

Bottom line: Get it now!
