The new Steve Stevens CD, "Memory Crash", is out and wow - what a ride!!! Best known for his work with Billy Idol and his Grammy winning theme song for the movie "Top Gun", Steve has been a force on the music scene for well over 20 years. This is his 3rd release (the other 2 were the must-have CDs "Bozzio, Levins, Stevens") for the guitar-centric label Magna Carta.

Steve Stevens - guitarist

The new CD features Brian Tichy (Billy Idol, Ozzy, Velvet Revolver) on drums for all songs and special guest Dug Pinnick (from King's X) on bass & vocals on the CD's only cover tune - Robin Trower's "Day of the Eagle". Other than that, it's ALL Steve Stevens - guitars, keys, guitars, sound FX, guitars, bass, guitars...and guitars!

Memory Crash

Recorded in Steve's recording studio, "The Purple Room", "Memory Crash" opens up with a 2 minute tension-builder "Heavy Horizon" and doesn't let up for a second through 10 songs. Songs like "Small Arms Fire", "Water on Ares", and the title track take you on a heavy ride in one direction, while "Cherry Vanilla" and "Hellcats Take the Highway" pull you in another. Steve shines not only as guitarist, but as composer, producer, & engineer.

But the best thing? Steve's guitar is center-stage all the way, baby! From his incredible nylon-string flamenco-esque forays to his huge rhythm riffing to his searing and other-worldly electric soloing, Steve takes you on a wild, wild ride that outshines any guitar record on the market today.

Bottom line: HUGE record! The best offering ever from the first certified guitar god of the 21st century!

Just did the interview with Steve (the wonders of modern technology - hahaha!!!). A little splicing & dicing (clips of his music) and I'll load the soundfile up.
